Maybe I'm the only one, but I truly feel that I traded half my brain in for my kids (hence the name of the blog). And while it is totally worth it (B"H!), since having children (1) My attention span and focus have decreased by 50% (2) I have a lot less time in general (3) The time I do have is in smaller increments (4) There are much fewer opportunities to daven, learn, read, attend classes, etc. (5) Even when I do engage in any of the above, I find it much more challenging to connect on an intellectual and spiritual level
Despite these challenges, I feel that it is important to feel connected spiritually and to continue learning and growing - especially as a parent. Of course, a lot of the most important work (especially on our middos!) happens right while we are in the thick of everything. Nevertheless, many of us crave a connection through thinking and learning as well (even if we do only have a half a brain to do it with :)
That is why I started this blog. To give women a space to discuss ways in which to grow, learn, and connect spiritually while doing our best to juggle our many responsibilities. I specifically chose the format of a blog, because it is low-pressure and can be accessed whenever you have a few minutes. (And if you ever have more than a few minutes and would like to contribute any of your own thoughts to a community of other frum women, please reach out to me.)
I would love to hear your thoughts!
